Dating With Herpes - Starting a Relationship With Herpes

If you have herpes, and you have been alone for a while, then you probably want to start dating. But now you may be wondering how dating will work when you have herpes. You may realize that dating for you now won't be the same as it was before you got herpes. You may be nervous or scared about it, and worried about rejection, or worried about giving your herpes to someone else. You may have heard of some legal cases which went to court regarding some celebrities, with their names in the media, which is something you are very concerned about. And finally, you may wonder how or if you will ever have sex when you find the right person. This article will address all of these issues, in a concise, easy to understand format.

The basis to all successful dating, herpes or not, is complete honesty. If you want a successful relationship, holding anything back will eventually contribute to the end of the relationship. And it doesn't have to be just about herpes. We can have many parts of our past we do not want widely known, and they can include family secrets, past promiscuity, illegal activities, drug use or other addictions, giving up a child for adoption when you were a teenager and lots more. And of course having herpes is another thing to disclose. This does not have to be done on your first date! If you want, you can hint at some of these parts of your past, but you do not have to blurt them all out on your first date. Instead, be yourself, and let the other person start to get to know you. If they like you, and there is a second date, you can slowly begin to reveal one or maybe two confidential parts of your past. You should be looking to see if the other person is doing the same. If they seem secretive, there is probably no point in going beyond a third date, and it would be inadvisable to have sex with them. Once sex is involved, our feelings get distorted, and part of us starts overlooking any negative signals that are given to us.

By the third date, there is a chance that the other person may tell you that they have herpes! There is about a twenty percent chance that they do. Keep that in mind, and then while in a romantic but not passionate situation, you can mention that you have herpes. You can tell them how long you have had it, and how often you have outbreaks, or if you never have outbreaks. You can give them some printed information on herpes to take with them when the date ends. If they are understanding, and they have told you something personal about their past, then you have a chance of developing a good relationship based on honesty. If they reject you, they are saying a lot about themselves, and you will have learned a lot about them without going too far. This is the time to move on to someone else. There is someone out there who is just right for you.

There have been some celebrity court cases regarding herpes and many other cases regarding herpes by non celebrities. The cases usually involve the fact that one party did not tell the other party that they had herpes, and passed the infection on to them. In other words, honesty was lacking before they had sex. Court cases, adverse publicity, and possible monetary loss can be avoided by being honest at the beginning.

It is possible to have a good sex life with herpes. The key is to learn about herpes, and know how it affects you personally. People are different in this regard, and the more you know, the better. Knowing about herpes, and knowing yourself, will enable you to have regular sex. It is possible to learn how to reduce the frequency, or minimize the severity, or even stop outbreaks altogether, if you know how. How to do this can include diet, herbal supplements, exercise and stress reduction, which are beyond the scope of this article.

If you want to end herpes outbreaks, guaranteed, visit my site below. I have been helping people with herpes for over 16 years. I have herpes so I know what it's like. Since I discovered how to end herpes outbreaks, I have been sharing this discovery with others. I operate a confidential website, and answer herpes questions emailed to me through the site. I also share what I know about stopping herpes outbreaks.

Herpes - Dating Dilemma

Herpes - What is It?

It is believed that Herpes simplex virus exists as a number of strains with the HSV - 1 and HSV - 2 variety being the most prevalent. The virus' MO is to retreat to and remain dormant within the healthy cell structure of the host organism thereby eluding attack from the host's immune defence system.

Predominantly HSV - 1 causes genital herpes and retreats to the nerve cells at the base of the spine whilst HSV - 2 is the main cause of Cold Sores usually forming around the lips and mouth, and when dormant is located in the nerve cells of the ear.

Favourable (to the virus) conditions, which appear to vary from host to host, allow the virus to leave the cells and travel along nerves to the skin and mucous linings. There it replicates and causes itching, redness, blisters and finally open lesions. It's not known if the virus completes its cycle or the hosts immune system overcomes it but the sores usually heal without treatment within 7 - 14 days.

Whilst present on the skin or mucous linings the virus can be transmitted to another host and it should be noted that at times no visible symptoms may be present but the virus is still able to transmit to another host.

This is referred to as asymptomatic shedding and leads us to the subject of this article.

Herpes and Dating.

Romance, dating, love, sex - subjects that are so basic and important to our happiness, at the very core of our being, vibrating in every fibre of our body and making our lives a heaven or a hell on earth depending which part of the merry go round were on at any particular time.

No wonder those subjects are so charged with emotion and feelings! Now introduce a little monster that can complicate the heck out of it by about a thousand percent, what the hell do you do?

Get tested and Insist your partner/s do the same! Thats the best way to know exactly where you stand. If you have had several sexual partners or are just thinking about entering a relationship its better to have certainty.

Hundreds of people write to our website telling stories of how they were given the virus. Sometime by an unsuspecting partner, others by cheating husbands, wives or partners that didn't tell them they had the virus.

It's even more tricky because sometimes the person has never had symptoms so naturally has no reason to suspect they carry the virus. This is believed to be the main reason for the rapid and wide spread of the virus.

If you are one of the unlucky ones that has the active virus, don't despair. There are many people like you and they are looking for partners too! Just do a search for herpes dating sites and you are sure to find plenty of potential partners, even if you don't find your life mate, you're sure to make plenty of friends.

Good Luck!

Dating For People With STDs

The common first reaction for most people when diagnosed with an std is a 'tunnel vision' view of lifelong loneliness and humiliation. There's a tendency to become attached to feelings of anger and depression. If you're young and otherwise healthy, you may think that future dreams of getting married and starting a family are lost to you.

Although this is natural, be aware that these feelings are highly exaggerated. Dating for people with std's is by no means impossible; if you have herpes, for example, it's worth knowing that between 20% to 25% of adults in North America are living with the same condition. Many are in the prime of their lives, and simply looking for a partner to whom their std will not be an issue.

Online Dating for People with STDs

This is where online dating can be your best friend. Since 2002, a handful of dating sites have sprung up online that are specifically related to STD dating. Twenty years ago, being diagnosed with an std meant that to avoid being alone you were forced to take your chances in the usual 'singles' environments. Today, you can get to know people online who have the same problem, therefore making it a non-issue. No anxiety about disclosure, no fears about spreading to a non-infected partner.

Be aware that to join an std-related dating site does not mean that you have to dwell on or be defined by your condition. You will find that most members have no interest in that, but rather want to be free to focus on their more interesting and dynamic characteristics. You also find, in std dating sites, groups of people who are more ethical than the standard, as joining is a step taken away from uncaringly infecting others.

So which is the best std dating site? As with any dating site, it's the one that is the most popular, since it will give you more choices, even in a smaller city. As a member of several std dating sites online, I've found that PositiveSinglesOnline.com is the hands down winner. It was established way back in 2002, and has developed the most solid reputation in that time.

I hope this information has been helpful!

Herpes Dating? Some Awful Dating Sites Are Not So Obvious

Do not let that shock you, for I actually did find a self-named dating site with such a header. While knowing that it was a bad site was simply elementary, I decided to take a look around anyway and guess what? I was not disappointed. This reflects the fact that there plenty of phony, half way, fly by night dating sites out there put up as just a joke, to waste your time or even worse, take your money. In addition, not all of them are so obvious, so here are some ways for you to look out for bad dating sites and religiously avoid them. One of the best ways to know whether a dating site is good or not is to check how long they have been operating, especially online.

I am not saying that you should give newer dating sites a miss completely, but if they have not been around for that long, they warrant much more research. Legit dating sites, which have been keeping people happy and healthy, would have been around for years because they would be riding on the winds of recommendations from their initial customers who, with the connectivity and power of communication of the internet, would have spread to all corners far and wide. There is nothing more powerful than off site testimonials and discussion boards to find out how good the services of a dating site is and it takes just a little time and a little research to get the information that you need. When you do look at the site, look at the aesthetics of it. The layout should be simple, they should be using a lot of clean white spaces and the spotlight should be on your profile. Shoddy design work and a low build quality means that they do not know about the mechanisms of online dating and have not put a lot of thought into the site design.

This means they will not be able to help you search for the person you love and more than likely, it is a scam website meant to gather your personal information like your email and sell it to spammers. If you cannot really judge the website by these factors, try and take a look at the profiles of some of their members. If they resemble hot model like types in skimpily dressed clothes with provocative lines then more likely than not, they are fake websites with intentions other than helping you find the date of your dreams. OR it could a website with a totally different dating niche than what you are looking for. Either way, always investigate first before filling out anything which requires you to give out your personal information especially your credit card number. While I doubt sites like Herpes dating will last so long, I hope this article at least nudges you in the right direction to surf smart and find the site that you are looking for. I would say 1 -2 out of every 5 dating websites are phony and if you know how, they are pretty easy to spot.

STDs and Teenage Dating

Teenage dating is becoming more and more popular and unfortunately, the rate of Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) has also increased a lot. Most people start dating as early as nine years old and if you are to ask the older generation when they started dating they will probably also tell you they started dating in their teenage years. STD is got when a partner who is not infected has unprotected sex with someone who is infected. Examples of STD's are genital herpes, chlamydia, trichomoniais and papillomavirus. Recent research has indicated that more and more teenagers are found to be infected with at least one of this STDs or that they had been infected with one of them and got treated and non of their parents even knew about it.

Teenage dating has come to be more sexually involving and unlike in the past where such relationships did not involve sex, nowadays, teenagers have a thing of saying that if you love someone you show them that you like them by having sex with them. The problem with this is that they trust each other so much that they rarely even think of having protected sex. They not only subject themselves to having STD but also HIV Aids Virus and for the girls becoming pregnant and mothers at a very young age. For the boys, they become fathers at a very tender age. In a study conducted by the federal health officials, they found out that one out of four young women who are between the age of 14 and 19 are infected with at least one of the STD.

People who have seen things figures about teenage dating and STD are wondering who to blame. Some of them have blamed the education system saying that they are not giving their teenage children enough information on sex. However, we cannot entirely blame the education system. The parents too are to blame. Most parents shy away from talking to their teenage daughters and sons about the dangers of having sex. Sex is a subject that no one should shy away from talking about. This is because when you shy away from it, people are bound to get hurt by getting the sexually transmitted diseases which if in the first place they had enough information they wouldn't have contracted it. Parents should talk to their teenager dating children and prevent this epidemic from getting worse.

There are some people who have suggested that free condoms should be put in schools for teenage dating couple to use. However, not everyone is okay with it. The question still remains, should they put the condoms in schools and encourage their children to indulge in early sex or should they refuse and let the teenagers continue getting infected? The solution to this might not be got very soon and when we are still wondering what we should do, the teenagers are continuing to infect each other and if we are not careful it is going to be a world wide catastrophe.

Responsible Use of STD Dating Sites

Just as its name implies, STD dating sites are used by individuals who have STD to meet and greet other individuals in the same boat. In this way, you can meet new people, connect with them and possibly find your lifetime partner, all without the undue discrimination and negative judgment prevalent with dating non-infected individuals.

However, just like any online dating sites, you have to follow certain rules for your own protection as well respecting the rights of other users.

Keep in mind that although most of the users have good intentions, there will always be members who have less-than-positive aims in joining the site.

Be Safe Online and in Personal Meet-ups

You should take advantage of the double-blind system offered by the STD dating sites. Basically, you can exchange correspondence with the person via the internal secure messaging system without divulging too much personal information like e-mail addresses. This way, you remain anonymous to a certain extent while you determine if the other person is a creep.

And speaking of creeps, you have to be very realistic about finding your Princess or Prince Charming online. Although you may feel less inhibitions, this does not necessarily mean that the person is the soul mate you have been looking for. Just continue your live messages and e-mail exchanges but be cautious about expecting too much of the other person.

You should also not encourage the hopes of the other person if you are not interested in becoming more than friends. It is not your STD, per se, but it can be about not sharing the same interests, passions and views.

Now, if you still feel comfortable with the person, then you might consider a first meet-up. Keep it public, keep it safe and keep it friendly. If possible, you should bring along another friend and inform your family about it.

You will also find dating sites where group meetings are scheduled. In this case, you can join in and meet the other members in a safe setting. Plus, these group meetings definitely make for good times.

Be Sexually Responsible

In some instances, you may proceed to having a sexual relationship with the person you meet online in the STD dating service. You may already know that the other person has STD but it pays to know about his present medical status. At the very least, you will know when to have sex and when to refrain from it.

For example, if you both have genital herpes, you will want to refrain from sex while either one of you has open sores or is about to have an outbreak. You need to wait until the sores are totally healed before resuming your sexual activities. This way, you can prevent the other one from experiencing the symptoms all over again.

And even when you are willing and able to have sex, it pays to still be sexually responsible.

You have to use a latex condom at all times and use them well. You should ask your doctor about taking your medications just to minimize the risk of spreading your form of STD.

Online STD dating sites are good news for many, many people.

But to let it remain that way, every member must strive to be on their good online behavior and to be sexually responsible. Let it start with you.

Positive Single Dating

In the internet you will be able to find a lot of places where you will be able to search for friends or people you want to date with. However, not all the websites are safe, because there is a chance that the personal information that you have shared will not be safe. Furthermore, you will have to make sure that the people, you will have relationships with will not have STDs.

One of the safest websites I have ever seen is Positive Singles Dating, where you will learn how to make sure that your personal information is protected. Furthermore, there are a lot of links to blogs and forums, where you will learn a lot of information about the STD treatments and prevention. Remember that the STD are some of the most dangerous diseases and they can result in a lot of serious health problems if they are not treated on time properly.

In Positive Singles Dating you will be able to find more than 300 tips, which will help you to make sure that you are going on dates safely. That is very important, when you are looking to find a dating partner in the internet, because there you can't be sure exactly who you are talking with and there is a chance that the person you see on the photos is not the same as the one you will see in the real world. Furthermore, you can't be sure that the person you have chosen does not have an STD or even HIV, which is one of the diseases that can't be true.

The best feature of Positive Singles Dating compared to all the other dating websites is the fact that you will have access to one of the largest online informational databases, where you will be able to find a lot of information about STD, HIV and any other diseases that may be a result of sexual intercourse. There is no way that the website can make all of its members to make STD and HIV tests, but it can provide information that you will be able to use to prevent getting some of those diseases, because prevention is the best possible medication.

Due to the improvement of the modern technologies each one of the aspects in our life is changed and the same goes for dating. When you are looking for a website where you will be able to find a partner for you, make sure that you will take all the safety measures, before having sex with him. The reason for that is the fact that you can never know if the partner you will find in the internet have such health problems. At Positive Singles Dating you will not see some kind of STD or HIV tests, but there you will have access to a lot of information about how to prevent STD and also to learn some of the basic rules for safe online dating, which will help you to make sure that person you will be dating will be looking the same way as you have seen it on the photo.

STD Dating Sites Offer Chances at True Love

One of the hardest things I have been through is having a loved one that received an std disease. My best friend contracted the disease while she was involved with a guy that slept around a lot. She was the most loyal girl I've known. However, she never expected her ex-boyfriend to cheat. Not only did he cheat, but she got an STD from him. This had to be the one of the most painful experiences I have seen someone go through.

After contracting the disease, she went through a period of depression. Then she soon got over it and got enough courage to start going out on dates. She got back into the dating scene and because my friend was such a wonderful and honest person, she would let guys know beforehand that she had an std. Well, one by one I would see guys just not call her again.

I felt hurt for her. I felt anger. I knew how wonderful this girl was and I was witnessing guys turn her down because of something her ex-boyfriend did to her. I consoled her and told her the right guy would come along.

After experiencing this disease's effect, I did some research on it and found that 20% of American adults have some type of STD and herpes being #1. I did more research and saw that there are a lot of people going through the same emotional roller coaster as my best friend. Then I ran across std dating sites. I was astonished to know there was a community like this with people that were having the same problem and contracted an STD. These were people in all shapes and sizes. I told my girlfriend and she reluctantly decided to join one. Boy, am I glad she did because she is now engaged to a guy she met on the site.

However, it's not just about finding a "new loved". There's also resources available that keep up to date with STDs. There are help groups and more that I can see how so many benefit from these communities.

If you would like to join safe and private STD dating sites, I recommend a great one at http://std-dating.info. Don't let this disease stop you from living your life.

HSV Dating Sites - Can You Actually Find a Match?

After I was diagnosed with HSV-2 in November of 2008, I spent a lot of time trying to find a couple of decent HSV dating sites where I could meet women in the same situation. I took my diagnosis hard, but eventually realized that I could actually forget about it to a large extent if I was dating someone with whom I didn't have to have 'the talk' or worry about infecting.

Shockingly Inept

I was a little bit taken aback after searching a few HSV dating sites that had seemed to be all but abandoned. For example, one site I visited was called 'Positive Love'. It looked good from the outset, but then I did a search for profiles within my city.

Now, I live in Vancouver, BC, which is a decent-sized city (well, the third biggest in Canada, anyway). I made my search pretty broad by including women from the ages of 28-39. I included no other search criteria.

The result? (Gulp) Zero profiles returned. For the heck of it, I expanded this search to include all of Canada. The result (in a country of 30 million people)?

90 profiles returned!

I then signed up to another of the handful of HSV dating sites online. This one was called 'STD Friends'. This one also looked quite professional, but contained a bad omen: the std news reports featured on the first page were all dated back to 2006. I plugged ahead anyway and did the same search for my city, women aged 28-39.

The results? 0 profiles returned within Vancouver, and only 14 profiles returned across all of Canada!

Luckily, it didn't get worse after this. In fact, it got a lot better.

I stumbled upon a site called PositiveSinglesOnline.com. I discovered the 'Positive Singles' name while lurking around a forum thread that was about HSV dating sites. I went in and created a free profile and did my same 'search test'.

This time, my search for women aged 28-39 returned a whopping 322 profiles - and that was just within 100 miles of my apartment!

I'm now an active, chatty member - and highly recommend this site.

Happy searchin'!

Cold Sore Cure Series: How To Tell The Person You're Dating That You Have Oral Herpes

Now if it's one thing I don't ever want to be known as, it's the cold sore guru. No thanks, I'll take credit for other aspects of my life. Believe me, the last thing I want to discuss with friends and family is the inner workings of oral herpes.

Once in a while however, I do get emails from people just like you asking me questions that are very common to people who have just contracted the herpes simplex virus, which is what causes cold sores as we know them.

A young man from Kansas City sent me the following question very recently: "I just started seeing this girl, and we're going on our fourth date...so when exactly should I tell her I get cold sores?"

I will try to address this one as best I can, but I'll tell you that there is no definitive solution. Mostly because everyone is different and is likely to have a different reaction to your news.

Since everyone will react differently, you'll have to tackle this issue from a solid position. When we start dating someone new, there is always the potential for a relationship to come from it, which is the case with this young man's present scenario.

I would never recommend you mention you have cold sores too early. But at the same time you don't want to mention it too late. The only recommendation I will make is this - before the first kiss, stop just short of contact and say...

"I really want to kiss you right now, but once in a blue moon, I get a cold sore and I just got over one a few days ago and I should probably wait a couple more days to be perfectly safe."

By doing this you are:

-Getting it out in the open a very organic manner

-Waiting until you know the other person is into you enough to want to kiss you

-Showing concern for the other person

What more can you really do beyond that?

The other route to take is to assert total control over the herpes simplex virus. Believe it or not, you can in fact control it, just like you can control your temper or your appetite. We humans are far more capable of controlling the functions of our bodies than we give ourselves credit for.

If you're reading this now, it's because you refuse to accept having cold sores ruin your social life and you're looking for a way to take action against the virus. Did you know that changes in your diet, daily habits and a little exercise can help you make existing cold sores disappear and suppress future outbreaks?

It's true.

There are also a few household items already lying around in your cupboards that can help make what you see in the mirror easier to look at. I really hope all this information has given you a better idea of how your body works and I also hope you can be happy.

I'm rooting for you.

Norm Baldwin used to suffer frequent cold sore outbreaks, but they are now a figment of the past for him and he happily reveals how he did it in his free course, Cold Sore Control

If you just started getting cold sores, find out how to stay positive and not lock yourself inside the house.

Dating For People With STDs - What Are Your Options?

For some people, the prospect of finding a compatible man or woman for a lasting relationship can prove challenging. If you have been diagnosed with a sexually transmitted disease like herpes, or are HIV positive, you might wonder if you should bother looking at all. Regardless of how or when you came to acquire an STD, it's important to note that you can still lead a fulfilling, active life doing what you wish, and that includes dating.

Before You Search, Get the Facts

If you are considering entering the dating scene post-STD, it's important to educate yourself completely on your health and the risks involved in being sexually active should the occasion arise. Consult with your doctor about the severity of your condition, and know what you can and can not do in order to ensure the safety of a non-STD partner, or to prevent a partner with a sexually transmitted illness from getting sicker.

If you are required to take medication or topical ointments for the treatment of your virus, you will want to be honest with anybody you date if you feel the attraction is strong enough to last. Using condoms during moments of intimacy may prevent the spread of viruses, but no form of protection beyond abstinence can be considered a hundred percent effective. Know what you're dealing with, so you are able to talk with potential partners.

Dating with STD

Once you are prepared to date, you must determine how to find a suitable partner. There are Internet dating sites devoted entirely to matching people with STD to hopeful mates. Some may concentrate entirely on people who are HIV-positive, while others cater to men and women with herpes or HPV, the Human Papilloma Virus, among other venereal illnesses. Many sites offer free registration, charging fees only for premium services.

If you wish to retain some degree of anonymity as you search online, be sure to thoroughly browse each dating site you join before giving your personal information. Know the terms offered, and be yourself as you meet people interested in you.

Above all else, be honest with yourself and with potential life partners. HIV dating and herpes dating don't need to be scary prospects. Educate yourself, and be careful, and enjoy your romantic life.

Herpes Dating Advice

Herpes, a highly contagious sexually transmitted disease will get in the way of your dating and love life if you let it.

For example, if you try and talk about it with a new love or dating interest, there is a very good chance you'll be rejected as someone he or she would like to start a relationship with.

Tread slowly with someone new if you don't feel comfortable discussing it and don't become intimate until you do feel comfortable.

On one hand, you really can't blame a potential match for rejecting you. After all, you have an infectious sexually transmitted disease. And they will always doubt your decision making process no matter what they say. So why bother?

On the other hand, wouldn't it make more sense to meet potential love or dating interests who have herpes already? Why go through the guilt, shame and rejection with non-herpes people when thousands of people in your own area who have herpes are available and share your outlook on dating?

Dating people with herpes takes the issue off the table and you both can concentrate on getting to know each other better and planting the seeds for a wonderful long term partnership.

If you do decide to date a non-herpes person, be responsible and protect her or him from contracting this annoying life style changing disease.

You should be honest and out yourself as a person with herpes. You'll feel better and he or she will appreciate and respect you. Hopefully they won't dump you and you'll be able to start building a stable relationship.

Don't let your hopes for a meaningful and lifelong love relationship end with Herpes. There are thousands of people just like you in your area. All you need is a place where you can find and meet them and an online dating website is just what you need.

It's easier then you think.

Dating Someone With Herpes - The Issue of Awareness and Ignorance

Dating someone with herpes might be a little off particularly to those who do not have herpes at all. But how do you exactly know if you have herpes or not? According to studies, almost 90% of herpes infected individuals do not exactly have the awareness that they already incurred the disease. Since mild herpes do not actually have symptoms, unless the outbreak comes out or you have yourself tested, this will be the only time you will know you have one.

As herpes can be transmitted in many different ways, the big question falls on this? "Is it safe to date someone with herpes"? In actual fact, dating someone with herpes requires the identification of the severity of the disease itself. Although it is awkward to ask someone concerning this type of infection, a thin line between taking heed and curing herpes and those people that do not provide treatments at all will all determine the disparities.

If someone you are dating has herpes for a long period of time and is undergoing medical treatments, doing the deed with a protection will somehow make a difference weigh against sleeping with someone who doesn't have an inkling of having herpes and definitely is not doing anything to cure it.

Dating someone with herpes need not be a big issue. Even if this disease is tagged along with a dim-witted stigma for it being a form of a sexually transmitted disease, do you think you have laid yourself open to greater risk without the discernment between sleeping with a person curing herpes and the one who have unconsciously acquired the disease without providing any treatments at all? You choose.

Herpes Dating Sites - Free

Anyone with Herpes must be prepared for rejection when informing their love interest of their affliction.

This is hurtful but don't spend much time feeling hurt because the person who rejects you for that reason probably wasn't worth your while and it's a good thing it happened.

Not only can you move on to greener grass, you have the experience and will deal better with it next time.

The best option for finding a potential love interest doesn't rest with the general public but with a match making or dating site specifically made for people with herpes and other sexually transmitted diseases.

There are many sites and most offer two types of plans.

The free sign up plan on a STD dating web site just takes a few moments and you'll be able to start searching for suitable matches in your area or any area you look in.

The free plans will limit your access to other parts of their website that offer forums or chat rooms, informative articles about your STD and other premium services that the site must charge for to stay in business.

Try out the free sections on the STD Dating website and get a feel for the worthiness of their site.

When you feel comfortable that it's a site that will help you find dates, then consider joining it as a paid member to get the full benefits from it.

Using a STD Dating website makes sense because everyone who belongs is in the same boat as yourself and it takes the issue off the table enabling both parties to be themselves and really get to know each other.

A meaningful and lifelong love relationship can be yours if you know where to look. Don't think you're all alone just because you have herpes.

There are thousands of people in your area with herpes looking for you. All you need is a place where you can find and meet them and an online dating website just for you is what you need.

Visit: http://www.BuildingaStableRelationship.com and find the love of your life!

It's easier then you think.

Online Dating Background Checks

Background verification in online dating is about risk reduction and it makes good sense. None of the sites can provide any guarantees that they have fool-proof systems, but they do help in reducing the risk. As social networking, online dating and the Internet increase the number of people that we can meet, it also decreases what we can know about their life history and experiences. The popularity of online dating has born numerous niche sites and background verification services to weed out the weirdos, but the true danger of sexual health has been forgotten. The media has done wonders to perpetuate the fear of being raped or murdered on a first date by someone you met online. Now naturally one should be cautious initially and meet in public etc., but this is common sense. The chances of getting murdered from your online date are infinitesimally small. Nevertheless, a criminal record check is a premium service for which hundreds of thousands of online daters pay more than $50 per month.

Unfortunately, online dating sites have overlooked what is most important, which is personal health. According to the US Department of Justice, 1 tenth of 1 percent of the population has been convicted of a sexual offense and more than 60% are currently in custody or being monitored. Because online daters are mostly between 18 to 45 years, which is about 2/3 of the total population, let's just assume a very high number and triple the original figure; assuming that 3 in 1000 online daters are sexual weirdos. OK, sure this is something to consider, but when it comes to sex health the numbers are much scarier.

1 in 5 people over the ages of 12 has genital herpes and up to 90% don't tell their partners. Mostly, this is because they have not been tested for genital herpes and confuse their symptoms with other temporary irritations. According to CDC, more than 1 million people have HIV in the US and at least 25% don't know they are infected, again because they have not been tested. HIV is a fatal disease without any symptoms for 10 to 15 years or longer. OK, but you use condoms. Well, in the case of genital herpes condoms have been found to be only 50% effective in preventing transmission. This is because they only partially cover the area from which the virus may shed and be passed-on. Read our STD facts section for details, but you will also see that common curable STDs may lead to serious long-term health consequences when they go undiagnosed and untreated and they also increase the chances of getting HIV and genital herpes.

The bottom line is that the risk of contracting STDs is the most serious risk for dating, especially so for online daters. We are never going to know for certain about someone's full sexual history and we probably never should. We are of course entitled to our privacy and this would get absurd. But, remember that there is at least a 1 in 5 chance that your date has genital herpes and a 1 in 300 chance that he/she has HIV, versus a 3 in 1000 chance that he is a sexual deviant. Criminal background checks cannot guarantee that you won't be raped and a negative HIV test in the last 6 months cannot guarantee clean health, but you see where the priority should be and that risk reducing the risk is essential. Given that condoms alone don't do the job, you need to at least ensure that people are getting tested and are socially responsible.

Tips & Advice on Dating Someone With Herpes

What to do when your new boyfriend or girlfriend tells you that they have herpes.

So you've met this really great person, the chemistry is just right - they have a great personality, it seems like this person was custom made just for you. Out of nowhere that person starts to act a little distant and tells you that there is a need for "the talk". Things have been going so well that you can't figure out what you could possibly need to "talk" about. Over dinner the person drops a major bomb on you; "Honey, I have genital herpes", and just like that you feel like your entire world may come crashing down.

The truth is, this conversation happens hundreds of times every single day. There are millions of people infected with herpes types 1 and 2, and whether they have the type that shows up on their mouths, or the one that shows up on their privates - it is equally contagious and can be transmitted to either part of the body. The medical industry estimates that nearly 80% of those infected with herpes don't know it. So before you spazz out on your guy or girl, ask yourself, "Do I have herpes as well?"

Herpes sounds like a really scary disease to have, and while I'm not suggesting that you take it lightly - of all the sexually transmitted diseases, it has the least damaging long term impact. Did you know that routine STD tests DO NOT screen for herpes? Many in the medical industry say they don't bother to test for it specifically because so many people have it, that it's a lot more common than one may think. Some doctors even refer to it as a "dermatological annoyance... nothing serious". Now that isn't said to dress it up so that you may disregard it or think that it isn't really a big deal, but the demonetization of herpes has made the condition overblown.

So what should you do if you find out that the person your dating has herpes? Here are a few things to consider:

1. Can you see a long term relationship with this person despite the herpes? Because herpes is not a life threatening condition there should be no fear of death or anything like that. He or she is the same person that you were falling in love with yesterday as they are today. Herpes is not an indication of a promiscuous lifestyle, so just because they have herpes doesn't mean that they sleep around with everyone. Did you know that herpes can be transmitted even when using a condom? I bet you didn't!

2. The chances of passing herpes to a partner decreases by 73% when a person takes daily suppressive medications, the most popular being Valtrex. The use of condoms combined with daily medication decreases the chance of infection by 98%

3. The longer a person has herpes, the more infrequent the outbreaks are. The first year of a herpes infection is also the most active year, most people will experience an outbreak every three to four months. However as time passes the body develops an immunity to the virus meaning the outbreaks occur less and less. Many people who have the virus report having fewer than one outbreak per year after the first 5 years.

There is life after a herpes diagnosis or discussion, and although it is contagious, it does not have to be the end of the world. If you can honestly see yourself with this person one, two or even five years down the line - don't rob yourself of that love and happiness. Herpes transmission can be avoided with mutual respect and communication.

Dating and Living With Herpes - Tips to Make Your Life Easier

Living with herpes isn't easy. But, there are some strategies for living a more comfortable life.

This includes day to day hygiene as well as interaction with your friends, family, co-workers and other people you come in contact with on a daily basis.

And don't forget your love life as herpes is not a death sentence for your existing relationship or if you're looking for a new one.

If you have the disease you must understand it. This involves understanding what causes your outbreaks. Doing this will enable you to manage your herpes more effectively.

You must learn to recognize and monitor your symptoms and be able to treat them fast. Statistics show that herpes sufferers have symptoms that are not as clear cut as medical textbooks would tell you. Statistics will also show that most herpes sufferers don't even have symptoms of an outbreak. You have to be smart!

Personal hygiene is essential if you are herpes positive. Showering at least once daily, and twice daily when symptoms of an outbreak are present would be wise.

You must use a clean washcloth every time you bathe. When you have cleaned your infected area do not use the same washcloth to clean the rest of your body. It would be smart to wash your outbreak area last during a shower to avoid spreading the herpes.

Broken blisters should be cleaned with soap and water to kill any viral fluid that may seep from the lesions. This also promotes healing. Try to keep the infected area as dry as possible, except when bathing.

Another tip for clothing is to wear lose garments that help stimulate airflow.

Never touch any lesions you have without washing your hands after wards. If you don't wash, anyone who comes in contact with the viral fluid left behind by anything you touch will contract the disease too.

Using good hygiene makes sense and will keep your outbreaks too a minimum as well as preventing anyone you're in contact with from contracting the disease too.

And, if you're looking for a new love interest, doesn't it make sense to use a dating site especially for people with herpes and other sexually transmitted diseases?

No need to lie or hide behind a false front. Everyone on the site has the same problem. This way, you can really get to know someone without worrying about telling them about your affliction.

Visit http://www.BuildingAStableRelationship.com and find a new love from thousands of people just like you.
